Where: Michigan State U, Linton Hall rooms 121, 305, 206, and 307.
Parking in the Morrill Hall parking structure.
Skype for colleagues interested in attending virtually.
Slate of activities:
Opening organizational session with coffee, juice and bagels.
Break out sessions in small groups will work together to compile information and resources to answer the following questions:
- Program Accreditation: How will MDE work with NCTE and CAEP?
- Standards for Teacher Preparation: How should we support the group's continued efforts?
- MTTC: What changes are in the works (e.g., based on CAEP and the SPAs)? What resources are available for educators and students?
- Common Core Standards: When and how will MI expect schools to meet these? What assessments will be used? What resources should we use, or create?
- Smarter Balance: What role will this body play? When will they "take over"?
- NCTE's Involvement: How is NCTE responding to Common Core, among other topics? What resources is it developing?
- NWP's funding: What is the status for next year? How are various sites across the state preparing for less funding?
